It is also a gathering of true believers who feel as &#8220;the chosen ones&#8221; and offer to the society an alternative way of culture&#8221;, as writer and project participant Mark Zinger says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This route is the result of research carried out by Vytautas Magnus University, &#8220;101&#8221; Art Gallery. During this time young VDU students-researchers got the opportunity to interview all sorts of Kaunas city artists \u2013 writers, painters, directors, architects, and many more getting to know better the history of Laisv\u0117s al\u0117ja (sub)culture. The Guide to bohemian places of Laisv\u0117s al\u0117ja came along after city artists pinpointed the most significant public places. Surprisingly enough, cafes and restaurants which were open during the interwar period, the following Soviet era, and years after that are still a living memory of the citizens. However, now most of them have changed their purpose or even disappeared.
